Climate, Lombardi (Proger): "Experimenting to protect cultural heritage"

To protect cultural heritage, "architecture and engineering must experiment." This was stated by Marco Lombardi, CEO of Proger, the first independent, non-captive Engineering & Management firm in Italy, during the event "Adaptation strategy for climate change that doesn't wait: engineering for territories and cultural heritage," organized in collaboration with the Soft Power Club and supported by Proger, currently underway at the International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.
"The Architecture Biennale is a laboratory, a great example of experimentation. Just as one of the most daring examples of engineering innovation will be the Messina Strait Bridge, of which Proger is one of the designers. Messina will be the world's longest single-span suspension bridge," Lombardi added. "Engineering must foster a culture of doing. As Biennale director Carlo Ratti says, it's precisely because a work hasn't been done yet that we're interested in. Because we're interested in that part of the world that's moving toward progress."
